Cobbold Gorge
Deep in the heart of the Gulf Savannah region of Far North Queensland is a hidden outback oasis – Cobbold Gorge just a short 45km drive from Forsayth Tourist Park. (Approx 30kms dirt road)
Undara Lava Tubes
A wonderland of geological delights – the legacies of ancient coral reefs, startling alluvial deposits and Earth’s longest volcanic lava flow.
Savannahlander Train
The Savannahlander travels between Cairns and Forsayth once a week between March and November. Arrives at Forsayth Thursday and departs Friday.
Gold and Agate Fossicking
Forsayth Tourist Park offers exclusive access to 2 cattle stations for gold fossicking and is a great place to stay whilst exploring nearby Agate Creek in the hunt for thunder eggs and agate.
Copperfield River
Just a short stroll from the Einasleigh Hotel is the sparkling Copperfield Gorge. The gorge was formed when the Copperfield River eroded a channel through a sheet of basalt laid down by an ancient lava flow. The Copperfield Gorge is a major feature with deep, cool chasms and quiet beaches.
Einasleigh Hotel
Just 1 hour’s drive from Forsayth, built in 1909 this pub offers a cold beer and basic meal. Home to a collection of over 400 pieces of miniature dolls furniture made to an exact scale of 1 to 12.

We turned up late arvo on our way out to Agate Creek and were lucky to get a powered site. I'm so glad we did. What a lovely little caravan park in a beautiful town. Great caravan park to base out of. We drove out to Cobbold gorge without the caravan and was able to use the pool there after our gorge tour.
The hosts were fabulous and the DVD library was very handy.

Smallish caravan park with good level sites, plenty of shade. Very friendly and approachable owners. Spotlessly clean amenities, inc bathroom and camp kitchen. Washing machines $4/ load. Suggest booking in advance as popular.
Forsayth itself … More is interesting with informative signage on history etc. lovely green shady park opp goldfields hotel. Also a great jumping off point for exploring Cobbold gorge and copper field gorge in einasleigh. -
Awesome country hospitality. Ian and Kelly made us feel like family. Had a coldy with Ian every afternoon. Helped with the Anzac day service. Ian opens a little bar on premises some nights and also offers very cheap meals which were basic … More but awesome. Highly recommend this park, one of the highlights of our adventures so far.

Forsayth tourist park is a fantastic place to stay and use as a base for the Cobbold Gorge and visiting the town of Einsaleigh. Ian and Kelly, the park owners make you feel very welcome and even offer a happy hour on certain days. They … More invited us to join in and participate in the ANZAC day service. The whole town made us feel welcome. I would highly recommend anyone travelling through to stay for a couple of nights.

Great location to stay then leave your van before driving to Cobbold Gorge. This is where the Savannahlander train finishes its journey from Cairns. Great pub with a limited menu. Kelly and Ian are fantastic hosts.

We have just had 3 nights in the park, cleanest amenities we've had in a while, quiet park with great water pressure and handy to the local park for the history of the area and the cold beer at the pub
